Dress a Girl: An Opportunity to Provide Dresses for Girls in Need!

Uganda 2012 2

Today I welcome Suzanne Lofgren who is going to share about an amazing opportunity to help provide dresses for girls in need around the country.

——————————————-

Dress A Girl Around the World is a campaign making simple dresses for girls in need.  We have been sewing for 3 1/2 years and have dressed over 165,000 girls!  All of the sewers are volunteers that love to use their sewing skills to help others.  We have beginners as well as advanced sewers participating in this project!  And dresses have gone to girls in over 65 countries!

We are sewing for girls to help them discover their worth, beauty and dignity.

Last September I traveled to Appalachia to deliver dresses to little girls.  We gave out the dresses in the second poorest county in the United States.  It is hard to imagine the need we found in this area and it was amazing to see the smiling faces when these little ones received their dresses.  We dressed girls from the age of 6 months up to 18 years old!  And next July I have the opportunity to go to Uganda to dress girls.  I will be traveling with Hope 4 Women International (the organization our campaign is under) and Hope 4 Kids International.  We will not only dress girls but also dedicate wells and attend the graduation of 160 ladies from our sponsorship program.
