Simply Frugal Disney
As a travel agent & Disney Specialist, I often hear people say, “I would never take my kids to Disney, because I could never spend $10,000 on a vacation.” The good news is that you don’t have to. By working with an Authorized Disney Specialist you can find ways to give your children the Disney trip they have dreamed of, without breaking the bank.
In order to get the most “bang” for your Disney dollar, you must first be flexible with your travel dates. By staying on Disney property you will save in any number of ways. The Walt Disney World Resort offers rooms ranging from a nightly rate of $102 all the way up to $1900. There is always an affordable option. Only Disney Resort guests have the ability to utilize the Magical Express luxury bus service to and from the airport eliminating the need to rent a car. Once on Disney Property you have the ability to use any number of Disney’s fantastic transportation options, boat, Monorail, or bus to move about the resort and from park to park. Staying on Disney property also allows you to utilize one of their dining plans because they are linked to the number of nights you stay in a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.
Several times throughout the year Walt Disney Travel Company offers their dining plans for free; typically, these specials occur in the month of September, as well as select dates towards the end of the year and early the following year. These offers are often during times of lower hotel and park occupancy, so your time waiting for attractions can be reduced dramatically. By building a relationship and staying in contact with your Authorized Disney Vacation Planner, you will be kept up to date about all of these special times a year.

Vacations are much more enjoyable when you can save money on your expenses. The internet is full of websites dedicated to saving you money by posting deals on airfare, travel accommodations, and more.
Here are five of the best travel deal websites dedicated to saving you money on all of your vacations.
Their motto is ‘search one and done’, and Kayak.com lives up to their motto. The site has tons of deals available, but a pro tip is to be flexible on departure date and destination. The website is basically a travel site search engine that searches hundreds of online sources to help you find the best deals on airfare.
2. Bing Travel
Bing Travel has a unique feature that can help you find some great travel deals. It has a ‘price predictor’ that forecasts whether flight prices along major routes will go up or down. This allows the site to give you a recommendation to either book a flight now or wait for the price to drop, saving you money and time!
Hotels.com lists over 130,000 properties on its massive hotel database. If you’re looking for family vacations at Club Med you’ll find a wide list of accommodations available through the site, since it offers monthly and weekly deals, as well as last minute deals that are updated every Thursday. Hotels.com often lists 5 star hotels for 3 star prices.
DealBase.com features a collection of over 70,000 hotel and flight packages, as well as a ‘deal analyzer’. This tool breaks down cost so that users can see how much they are actually saving. DealBase.com will make sure you get the greatest value for the lowest price on your family vacations at Club Med.
Hotwire.com features rental car deals from seven partner companies, which means you’ll get a great deal. Hotwire.com also offers exclusive blind deals, where users pay for a rental but aren’t informed of the rental company.

Lower Vacation Food Costs
Suitcases are zipped, accommodations confirmed, and if traveling by plane, life has been neatly compartmentalized into 3-oz. containers. Before you leave on summer vacation, plan for happy tummies and healthy bank accounts.
Go Local. Tourist traps are just that — traps. Try the neighborhood joint or scope out the street food scene, and discover the city’s best without spending the most. Do your research with foodtrucksmap.com.
Pack snacks. Whether traveling with kids or not, your crew is bound to get hungry between meals. Instead of buying snacks at convenient stores, try bringing one of these 10 goodies from home.
Score complimentary breakfasts. Whether full-fledged buffet or just a bowl of cereal, these meals can save you big bucks in the morning and keep you energized until lunchtime.
Bring reusable water bottles. No need to waste money on bottled water when you can refuel for free at the tap. Try mybkr, the coolest new bottle on the block.
Hotels.com is my favorite place to go for a deal when we need to book a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to find a new feature on their website: Deal of the Day featuring hotels at 50% off! We are snagging a great deal on a hotel for one of our nights in California! Here are some of the promotions available on Hotels.com:
